Welcome Future Voters!!

Hello future and current voters! My website is designed to educate young adults and college students primarily ages 18-22 years old on the importance of voting at a young age, and ways that you can do it and become involved!

The importance of voting and some demographics.

Voting at such a young age can be intimidating, but it is crucial for the outcome of your future and your country’s future. The ages of 18-22 years old is the lowest percentage voting block in our country, and I currently would like to bring awareness to and raise the statistics of that percentage by encouraging young adults to vote! There are many resources for casting your ballot including absentee ballots specifically for college students, local schools and centers, and online resources.

Voting Basics…Why Vote?

Voting is a fundamental right that allows you to have a say in your government and the issues that affect your life. It involves registering, understanding the process, and participating in elections. It is important that you familiarize yourself with local voting laws and procedures to ensure your voice is heard.

Statistics for current college student voting percentages.

In the most recent elections, voter turnout among college students has been low, but is increasing with about 50% participating in the last Presidential election. This indicates for greater awareness and involvement to get those other 50% voting!

Ways that 18-22 year olds can vote, absentee ballots, how to register.

Young voters can choose to vote in person, by registering through mail with an absentee ballot, or early in some states. To participate, you must register ahead of your state’s deadlines. Make sure to review the requirements for your state and take action to ensure that your vote counts.

Current Candidates in the Presidential Election.

The current candidates in the 2024 Presidential election are Republican Donald J. Trump, Democrat Kamala Harris, and Independent third-party Cornel West, Jill Stein, and Chase Oliver. Their Vice President candidates are Republican J.D. Vance, Democrat Tim Walz, and Independents Butch Ware, and Mike ter Maat.

Issues That Matter.

Key issues influencing young voters today include climate change, student debt, healthcare, and social justice. Understanding how candidates address these topics can guide your voting decisions.

About Me!

Greetings! My name is Marnie Schroder and I am currently a Freshman at the Catholic University of America. I am majoring in Business Administration and specializing in Political Economy. I graduated Bishop Ireton High School in 2024. I currently casted my first vote as an adult this year in the Primary Election. I believe that it is extremely important to use your voice as a young adult in the industry. I grew up outside of Washington D.C., and I now I currently attend school there. This environment has driven me to become deeply invested in Politics, and has driven me to become involved. I established this website to raise awareness to the importance of voting at a young age, and to provide assistance to young adults looking on where to start with voting.
